Welcome to Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Dur - our new 11-16 campus in the south of Neath Port Talbot. We opened this campus opened in September 2018 with only Year 7 and 8 and it has been a privilege to see our pupils grow in numbers each year and mature as young people.
Our aim is to broaden the horizons of our learners and to ensure that there is no barrier to the development of any pupil ensuring that all our learners are challenged to reach their potential with their wellbeing paramount. Pedagogy and wellbeing are at the heart of everything that happens in Bro Dur, and we pride ourselves on our sector-leading teaching and learning methods. With an excellent team of enthusiastic and energetic staff, teaching is lively, interesting and current but most importantly, the wellbeing and progress of all learners are our priority.
We work in close partnership with our three excellent feeder primary schools - Ysgol Gymraeg Rhosafan, Ysgol Gymraeg Tyle´r Ynn and Ysgol Gymraeg Castell Nedd. Here are three schools that ensure the best grounding for the pupils in terms of their education and Welsh identity, and we are very grateful to be able to build on these strong roots.
We are a close-knit community, where every individual matters - every pupil and every member of staff. We take pride in the opportunities we give our learners to develop an understanding of their identity and heritage as natives of Neath Port Talbot, Wales and as citizens of the world. As a new campus established in 2018, the principles of a Curriculum for Wales are an integral part of our pedagogy offering our learners a broad, authentic and current experience.
It is a privilege to work in this excellent school, I look forward to working with you as learners, parents and stakeholders of Bro Dur.
